Kristi Kenney Receives Most Votes in State Rep Primary
Nearly
3,200 individuals voted for Kristi Kenney for 120th District State
Representative in the recent primary election, nearly double the number
of votes received by the leading opponent. In Henry County,
Kenney’s vote totals more than doubled her nearest opponent.
"I thank the
voters in Henry County and throughout the district for their confidence
and trust in my campaign," Kenney said. "It is gratifying to know
that voters in this district feel the way I do, that we must fully
support local education, and make sure folks have access to adequate
health care."
"People see the need for change in the status quo," she said.
Kenney has
been busy since the primary. Kenney recently joined Attorney
General Jay Nixon and Secretary of State Robin Carnahan at an event for
Congressman Ike Skelton. Last week, Kristi joined the parade
celebration in Rockville. "It was a great parade," she said,
"entertaining and enjoyable, especially when exchanging ideas with the
voters of the Rockville area."
Last Monday
Kenney sponsored an ice cream social in Windsor which was well
attended. Lane Brooks and Mark Moser provided the
entertainment. "As always, the people of Windsor were informed
and focused on the issues of this campaign, including education and
adequate health care. I look forward to discussing these and
other important issues in detail as the campaign continues," Kenney
said.

Educators Support Kristi Kenney for Missouri House Seat
The Missouri National Education Association supports Kristi Kenney in
her bid for election to the Missouri House of Representatives.
Kenney is running for the 120th district seat.
"Missouri NEA believes that a great public school is a basic right for
every child. Our organization is pleased to recommend Kenney who
understands the responsibility that legislators have to make our public
schools great," says Chris Guinther, MNEA President.
"Our recommendation process is rigorous, and Kristi Kenney clearly
measures up on the issues that are important to Missouri’s
children, their future and our state’s public education system.
She deserves the support of every voter who believes the future
of our state depends on the quality of our schools."
The MNEA Political Action Committee evaluates candidates for office on
the basis of their support for four issues: 1) preserving
and strengthening public education, including increasing funding for
schools; 2) ensuring children's health and safety; 3) maximizing
student learning, including smaller class sizes and early childhood
education; and 4) respecting school employees, including improved
salaries and professional development funding. The voting records
of incumbents, questionnaires completed by candidates and lengthy
interviews with candidates are all considered as the education
association decides who will receive its support.
The 34,000-member MNEA represents teachers, education support
professionals, retired teachers and students studying to be teachers in
school districts and on college campuses throughout the state. It
